Here are some tips to keeping your little one safe and cool during these hot summer months!

1. Pick the Right Outfit

- Whether you’re indoors or outdoors make sure you dress your little one in loose-fitting, lightweight clothes made of natural materials such as cotton.

2. Provide Good Ventilation

- Never leave an infant in a hot room or parked car even if it’s just for a second. They can become overheated far more quickly than an adult and can cause there temperature to spike and can become life-threatening.

3. Keep Them Hydrated

- Even if you don’t see your little one sweating, they are still losing fluids under the hot summer sun. Babies should drink 50% more fluids during the summer months.

4. Watch The Clock

- The worst time for your little one to be outside is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. so be sure to plan activities accordingly.

5. Be Cautious with Sunscreen

- For babies under 6 months, try to keep them out of the direct sunlight, but when this is not possible apply a small amount of sunscreen to the exposed skin including the face.
